Deepa George, Ph.D.

Senior Group Director

As Senior Group Director in the Healthcare practice at NAXION, Deepa plays an active role in the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of qualitative and quantitative projects for an array of clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

Deepa’s work encompasses a broad range of healthcare-related topics, including oncology, rare diseases (including sickle cell), rheumatoid arthritis, vaccines, lupus, respiratory conditions, and osteoarthritis. She has managed projects addressing marketing problems that include forecasting market dynamics, assessing pipeline products, pricing, and developing new product positioning and messages. She has designed surveys for a wide range of respondent types including HCPs, support staff, patients, and caregivers.

Deepa has been a market research professional for more than a decade.  Prior to re-joining NAXION, Deepa was part of the Center for Healthcare Quality and Analytics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  While at CHOP, she led a team of data analysts and data scientists building reporting tools to analyze hospital operations, with a particular focus on the impact of COVID.  Deepa’s team was also responsible for data submissions to “U.S. News and World Report.”

Deepa received a B.A. magna cum laude in economics and mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in sociology from Duke University. Her dissertation work examined the impact of globalization on entrepreneurship and innovation in the Indian bio-pharmaceutical industry. She has taught undergraduate courses in statistics, organizational sociology, and social theory.
