Joan M. Lewis

Joan M. Lewis is a widely respected global consumer marketing strategist with expertise in brand- building, business growth strategies, opportunity assessment, and media effectiveness. Before forming Joan M Lewis LLC, a marketing consulting practice, Joan served as Senior Vice President and Officer of Global Consumer & Market Knowledge with Procter & Gamble (P&G).  In that capacity, Joan led an organization of over 1,000 research professionals responsible for ensuring that P&G’s business strategy and its portfolio of brands were optimally aligned with customer needs and market trends in over 100 countries.  

Joan retired from P&G after 27 years of outstanding service, during which time she achieved recognition, not just within P&G, but throughout the industry, for her marketing thought leadership, professional mentorship, and organizational effectiveness. Among her notable accomplishments at P&G were a streamlined product launch cycle, a shopper insights strategy initiative, and a reengineered approach to brand-building – activities that improved ROI and fortified P&G brand leadership in markets around the globe.  She was named by Advertising Age as one of the “top 25 Women to Watch” in 2010.
Joan is active on various for-profit and not-for-profit boards, including the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Consumer Insights International Advisory Panel, the Miami University (Ohio) Farmer School of Business, and comScore.
Joan received her BA, Summa Cum Laude, from the Miami University in Ohio.
